This week, the Ohr Torah Interfaith Center’s Blickle Fellows visited Rahat, the largest Muslim city in Israel. The first stop was the tent of Fatma Jamali, a Bedouin woman who educated herself to read and write, eventually completing a university degree. Today she runs presentations and discussions that break down stereotypes and promote coexistence, as seen in this photo.
Next, the group heard testimony from Yussef Alziadna, who on October 7th, drove 30 Nova festival-goers to safety. Four of his cousins were taken hostage that day and Rahat at large suffered heavy losses. Hearing Rahat’s experiences and perspectives was eye opening as well as an inspirational source of optimism.
